RE: different manufacturers observations

Daleybread, my experience was exactly the same as yours when we were shopping for our PUP. Except replace Fleetwood with Viking/Clipper.

RE: What is the big benefit of the highwall models?

Since your wife really likes the Starcraft, you should check out the Star Stream 3416 ... it's a highwall PUP! This beast is awsome. Interoir height - 7'3". Click here

RE: Rollin up the ground cover

I've seen a mod for this. It is a plastic water pipe fastened to the rear bumper of your trailer with end caps on it and one end cap is hinged with a lock on it. You can just roll your carpet (wet or dry) in there. Don't remember where I've seen it but I know a few people have made this mod and have pictures. Maybe someone will chime in and show us.

RE: Ecotourer PUP

Very nice! I think this kind of trailer would do very well here.

RE: Anyone use an Add-A-Room?

Looks like many either love or hate their AAR. I'm sort of in the middle. The first time setting it up was an adventure due to the horrible instructions. After 2 or 3 times setting it up it was easy. I only use mine if staying more than 2 nights. We find it keeps bugs out of the PUP but not completly, they always seem to find their way in. It does free alot of space inside the PUP by putting the table out and storing your stuff there. When I do use it, it's very convenient, but when I don't use it, I don't miss it that much.

RE: 2005 coachmen clipper spirit 1280st

We have had very good fortune with our camper. This is the second year we have owned it and have taken it out at least 25 times since then. Everything still works and we have used this thing alot. I have only replaced the cheap thermostat it comes with, other than that our camper was built very well. Can't say the same for others. Used is sometimes better in the sense that whatever was going to break in the first year would have already been fixed. It's hard to say if Coachmen makes a bad product or a good one. All I can say is that we are very happy with ours.

RE: Starcraft Star Stream SS3416

I don't have one of these but so far this beast is my dream PUP. Didn't even know it existed until a month ago. Love the floor plan, love the colours, love the size! You're very fortunate to have one of these. Enjoy!

Equal-i-zer now $449???

Just checked out RV Wholsalers website and saw the EQ for 449? Guess the gas prices are to blame.

RE: Awning lights

fairfaxjim, you're right. I totally forgot about the screen room tracks. The problem is that I usually use the screen room. I will use the clips on the tracks when I'm not using the screen room, but I will need to find another way to hang my lights when I use the screen room.

RE: Entry Level Recommendations For A Friend

Many have already said it but I'll say it again. TV, TV, TV. It all depends on what he can tow with his TV SAFELY. After determining what he can tow or if he can tow at all, then he can sit down and search for trailers in his weight range.

RE: Equal-I-zer WD Hitch

The spring bars on a new hitch will be hard to swing out and in but doable. If you say you can't budge them then I suspect the dealer didn't know what he was doing and tightened down on the head bolts which you're not supposed to do. If you are able to rest the spring bars on the brackets without lifting the rear of the vehicle, then no weight distribution is taking place which is why your sagging.

RE: 1977 Rockwood HELP PLEASE

Was it a drive thru car wash???? If you're going to wash your PUP take it to a place where you wash it yoourself. And take care of not blasting water in the vents like the furnace, refigerator and hot water vents. Or blasting water in places you think may cause a problem. If she drove thru a car wash and had the vehicle connected, it is likely that she blew some fuses.

RE: A big Hello and a Question

Use self tapping screws. In case you don't what these are, these are screws that sort of pre-drill themselves. This just eliminates the drilling part.

RE: Awning lights

Sorry, I forgot to mention that it is for a PUP awning. These are not as bulky as TT awnings and do not have a "utility track" to slide the type of hooks you guys have mentioned. Or do they?

Awning lights

I have finally found the perfect awning lights that I have been looking for. Now ... how the heck do I hang them? Anyone out there have some ideas or would like to share how they hang their tacky lights to a carefree of colorado awning? Pictures would be great!
